Words & Wonder is a comprehensive reading club for children and teenagers aged 7–18, designed to develop confident readers, independent thinkers and effective communicators. Through carefully selected books, guided reading and engaging educational activities, we help young readers strengthen their language skills, deepen their understanding and discover the confidence to express their ideas.

At Words & Wonder, we believe reading should do more than teach children to recognise words or finish a book. It should encourage them to question, interpret, imagine, communicate and think independently.

Our approach combines the enjoyment of reading with purposeful learning, helping children become thoughtful, curious and confident individuals.

Our approach includes:
Carefully selected reading
Books are chosen according to each age group’s interests, reading abilities and developmental needs, introducing readers to engaging stories, meaningful themes and new ideas.
Guided reading and discussion
Through guided questions, group discussions and interactive games such as Read Between the Lines, readers explore stories, make predictions, examine characters and develop their comprehension.
Language and vocabulary development
Readers discover new words and expressions through vocabulary challenges, word association games and activities that encourage them to explore meanings and use new language in context.
Critical thinking and communication
Through debates, role-play, storytelling challenges and discussion games, readers learn to question, analyse, consider different perspectives and express their ideas with confidence.
The Words & Wonder Reading Passport
EVERY BOOK HAS A STORY. EVERY READER HAS A REFLECTION.
Each book comes with its own 15-page Reading Passport, designed to accompany readers throughout their reading journey.
More than a record of completed books, the Passport encourages readers to engage with their reading through thought-provoking questions, personal reflections and vocabulary activities.
Inside each Passport, readers will find opportunities to:
- Track their reading progress and reflect on their journey through the book.
- Explore their thoughts and ideas through questions about characters, events and themes.
- Discover new vocabulary by recording unfamiliar words, exploring their meanings and learning how to use them.
- Reflect and review by completing a final book review, sharing their opinions and evaluating their reading experience.
Each Passport provides a space for readers to document their progress, develop their understanding and make every book a more meaningful learning experience.

Hi there! I’m Khadra Mohamed, founder of Words & Wonder. As an avid reader, a qualified English teacher and tutor with over eight years of experience, I’ve always appreciated the important role reading plays in shaping young minds. Beyond my work in education, motherhood has further strengthened my belief in the importance of nurturing curiosity and a love of learning. With growing concerns about literacy and declining reading habits among young people, I wanted to create a programme that would make reading engaging, purposeful and, most of all, enjoyable. Through Words & Wonder, I hope to inspire young readers to explore literature, develop essential skills and discover a lifelong love of reading.
Your Child’s Safety
Sessions run in small, supervised groups in a secure New Cairo venue, with clear drop-off and pick-up arrangements shared with parents. Photography or media featuring children is only ever done with explicit parent consent. Exact venue and supervision details are confirmed on WhatsApp before your child starts.
